Russia’s Lukoil may stop work in Iraq, Venezuela, Ukraine, Egypt
MOSCOW, Aug 14 (PRIME) -- Russian oil company Lukoil may interrupt work in Iraq, Venezuela, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Egypt and Ukraine because of high political and economic risks in these countries, the company said in a statement Thursday.
In Ghana, Ivory Coast and Egypt the company is exploring several fields. In Iraq, Lukoil is developing the West Qurna-2 deposit. In Venezuela, Lukoil is negotiating the sale of its 20% stake in the National Oil Consortium, which develops the Junin-6 block.
In Ukraine, Lukoil sold a refinery in Odessa in 2013 and a chain of fuel stations in August 2014, but it still owns idle petrochemical company Karpatneftekhim.
