Russia’s ChelPipe to restore exports to Iran if sanctions lifted
MOSCOW, Apr 6 (PRIME) -- Russian pipe maker Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant (ChelPipe) will restore the volumes of exports Iran, which traditionally stood at 30,000 tonnes, once the E.U. and the U.S. lift sanctions, a representative told PRIME Monday.
“If events develop under this scenario, ChelPipe will restore the amount of supplies to this country to the pre-sanctions level,” the official said.
Western sanctions “significantly reduced exports of products to this market,” the representative said. Before the 2013 punishment of Iran, the Russian plant mainly supplied seamless and welded pipes, but there were also supplies of bar steel, he said.
