Russia’s State Duma not about to revise core budget figures yet

Zhukov01MOSCOW, Dec 24 (PRIME) -- The Russian State Duma, parliament’s lower chamber, see no grounds for the revision of the key figures of the 2015–2017 budget but will propose such an initiative if the situation worsens, First Deputy Speaker Alexander Zhukov told reporters on Wednesday.

“If budget revenues decrease sharply, we will see that the budget can not be fulfilled in such an amount, and the government may put forward an initiative to decrease revenue and spending parts of the budget. But at the moment I see no grounds to do so, no urgency,” he said.

But he said that the core budget indicators do not correspond to the macroeconomic situation and did not rule out adjustments to the document.

On Tuesday Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said that a serious change in Russia’s economic conditions will trigger a revision of some macroeconomic figures for 2015, including the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), inflation and budget revenues.
