PRESS: Ministry suggests raising fertilizers, ores production tax

минеральные удобрени€MOSCOW, Sep 16 (PRIME) -- RussiaТs Finance Ministry has suggested at a government meeting more than tripling taxes on production of some fertilizers and non-ferrous metals from the beginning of 2021, Kommersant business daily reported on Wednesday.

Initially, the draft was to be sent for consideration of the State Duma, the parliamentТs lower house, immediately, but the timeframe has possibly changed.

The mineral extraction tax currently amounts to 3.8% for potassium salts, to 4% for apatite-nepheline, apatite and phosphorite ores, and to 4.8% for sodium chloride, nepheline, bauxite and iron ore, and a Уrent coefficientФ of 3.5x can be applied to the tax from January 1, 2021.
