MOSCOW, Sep 10 (PRIME) -- Russia's biggest lender Sberbank can give loan of more than 2.7 billion euros to the liquefied natural gas (LNG) project Arctic LNG-2, Deputy CEO Anatoly Popov said on Thursday.
"We think that Arctic LNG-2 is a promising project and are interested in becoming partners in its financing, as well as in the other new LNG projects of Novatek,” Popov said.
“We plan to make a loan decision until the end of the year. In accordance with our preliminary estimates, Sberbank’s financing can exceed the figure for Yamal LNG, which was 2.7 billion euros."
He said that LNG projects raise technological capacities of the oil and gas sector of the country and allow it to open new markets for Russian raw materials thanks to long-distance sea transportation.
