MOSCOW, Feb 5 (PRIME) -- SUEK-Kuzbass and SUEK-Khakasia, both subsidiaries of Russia’s Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK), have launched two coal faces with total coal reserves of 4.1 million tonnes, the subsidiaries said in separate statements Tuesday.
SUEK-Kuzbass launched a coal face with 2.9 million tonnes reserves at the Ruban coal mine in the Kemerovo Region. Monthly coal production will amount to 300,000 tonnes.
SUEK-Khakasia put into operation a coal face with 1.2 million tonnes of reserves at the Khakasskaya mine in the Khakasia Republic.
SUEK-Kuzbass comprises eight coal mines and three open pits, while SUEK-Khakasia operates the Khakasskaya coal mine and the Chernogorsky open-pit.
Coal output of SUEK increased 6% to 97.5 million tonnes in 2012.
