Russian court says 287 mln rbl tax claim to Ford illegal
MOSCOW, Jan 25 (PRIME) -- The Arbitration Court of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region said the decision of a regional branch of the Federal Tax Service, that obliged Ford to pay 286.9 million rubles worth of value added tax, was illegal, documents of the country’s High Arbitration Court seen by PRIME said Wednesday.
However, the court said the company deliberately overestimated its 2009 loss by 1.89 million rubles.
Ford’s plant in the Russian city of Vsevolozhsk in the Leningrad Region produces some 125,000 vehicles per year. In 2009, the company had to suspend production several times due to a crisis.
