Source: Gazprom may delay Vladivostok LNG due to sanctions

Танкер СПГ Сахалин 2 02ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 18 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom may delay its U.S. $13.5 billion Vladivostok LNG project due to Western sanctions, a source close to the company told reporters Thursday.

“Gazprom may delay some projects, including the Vladivostok LNG one. The issue has not been solved yet, but in fact there is sanctioned equipment there, so it is likely that some adjustments will be made,” the source said.

Previously, Gazprom said the final investment decision on the project may be made in 2016.

The Vladivostok LNG project envisages the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant with a capacity of 10.3 million tonnes per year in three stages, with first and second production lines being launched in 2018 and 2020, respectively. The company also did not rule out a possibility of constructing a third production line at the plant.
