Maduro says Russia, Venezuela agree on $5 bln oil indus investments

MEXICO, Dec 6 (PRIME) -- Russia and Venezuela have agreed on more than U.S. $5 billion of guaranteed investments in the Venezuelan oil industry and on the delivery of 600,000 tonnes of grain, President Nicolas Maduro said in his Twitter blog on Thursday.

“Contracts were signed in order to guarantee investments of more than $5 billion in order to raise oil production with the Russian partners. Russian investments of more than $1 billion in the mining industries facilities, mainly gold, were guaranteed,” Maduro said.

He said that grain supplies are guaranteed for 2019 and the further period.

The sides have also signed a contract of technical support to repair Venezuela’s defense system.
