Ministry: Russian gold output rises 6.4% to 306.9 tonnes in 2017

MOSCOW, Feb 13 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gold output increased 6.4% on the year to 306.9 tonnes in 2017, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday quoting data on supplies of the metal to gold refining plants.

Mined gold output rose 6.8% to 253.9 tonnes in the year, by-product gold output increased 7.2% to 16.4 tonnes, and gold scrap production grew 3.4% to 36.6 tonnes.

Russia’s silver output decreased 4.1% on the year to 1,044.3 tonnes in 2017. Primary silver production fell 18.9% to 429.9 tonnes, while by-product silver output rose 9.6% to 305.1 tonnes, and production of silver scrap increased 21.4% to 246.3 tonnes.
