New US sanctions not to hurt RussiaТs NPO Mashinostroyenia
MOSCOW, Feb 14 (PRIME) -- The latest expansion of the U.S. sanctions against Russian producer of weapons and military hardware NPO Mashinostroyenia (Research and Industrial Association of Machine Building) is an element of unfair competition, but it will not hurt the company, press secretary Anton Degtyaryov told PRIME on Friday.
УCancellation or softening of the sanctions is a purely political issue, and it is for politicians to decide, not for usЕWe in our operations always base on the existing situation, thatТs why we have changed our work in some directions to minimize the difficulties from the sanctions,Ф he said.
On Thursday, the U.S. imposed sanctions on three Russian companies Ц NPO Mashinostroyenia, weapons producer KBP named after Academician A.Shipunov, and aircraft producer Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise Ц and five Chinese firms due to alleged distribution of weapons of mass destruction in Iran, North Korea, and Syria.
Degtyaryov said that the company was hit by the U.S. sanctions in 2014, 2015, and 2016 as well, and was not surprised at the latest round. Nevertheless, any sanctions are unconstructive and hurt everyone in the end, he said.
