Report: RussiaТs economic growth not enough to reach goals Ц PM

Medvedev30MOSCOW, Sep 11 (PRIME) -- Dynamics of RussiaТs economic growth do not correspond to the tasks that the country has to solve, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said during a television show broadcast by Rossiya 24 channel on Wednesday.

УAt the moment, dynamics that we see donТt correspond to the forecast and to the goals that we have,Ф he said.

Russia has resources to speed up economic growth to an acceptable rate, and the government is working on changes in the economy. But the government is not the only entity that affects the economy, he said.

УIt is obvious that the situation in the global economy has an impact on our development and capabilities. We see what is happening, it includes a general slowdown in the global economy growth, a large amount of different problems including trade wars, and there are sanctions if we speak about our country. All these factors are the conditions under which we have to achieve our goals,Ф he said.

In particular, the U.S.ЦChina trade war has made a significant blow to the global economy, so Russia will have to adjust its economic dynamics in order to take that into account, he said.

The atmosphere for foreign investment in Russia Уis poisonedФ by the Western sanctions, but there are also internal problems in the country, like barriers and excessive regulation. The government and representatives of businesses are constantly discussing the problems, and the government is trying to solve them, he said.

Regarding the sanctions, Medvedev once again reiterated that Moscow hadnТt been the one to initiate the sanctions battle, so Moscow would not cancel its countersanctions first.
