Retailer sees Russian sales of Apple’s iPhone 4S starting in Dec
MOSCOW, Nov 24 (PRIME) -- Sales of Apple’s latest iPhone 4S smartphone in Russia are expected to start in the period from December 5 to December 21, major Russian cell phone retail chain Euroset’s President Alexander Malis said Thursday, RIA Novosti reported.
Apple’s exclusive official distributors in Russia are major Russian mobile operators MTS and VimpelCom. Supplies of the IPhone 4S to MTS and VimpelCom are expected to start in the period from December 4 to December 20, with sales to begin a day after the operators receive the first stock, Malis said.
In mid-November, sources said that Russian sales of the iPhone 4S were expected to start in December. In early October, a source from a Russian mobile operator said that sales might start in November.
Apple launched iPhone 4S sales on October 14 in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Germany, France, Australia, and Japan.
Sales of Apple’s previous smartphone model, the iPhone 4, began in Russia in September 2010, three months after its June debut in the U.S.
