Russia plans to give Toyota’s St Petersburg plant to institute

MOSCOW, Mar 16 (PRIME) -- The Industry and Trade Ministry is working to transfer Toyota’s plant in St. Petersburg to the Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute (NAMI), Deputy Prime Minister and Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told reporters on Thursday.

“We are working on a transfer of the Russian assets of Toyota to NAMI,” he said.

The plan suspended operations on March 4, 2022, and the company said in September it will close it because supplies of the necessary component parts were impossible.
