Severstal-metiz launches cold rolling mill in Cherepovets

MOSCOW, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- Cherepovets company Severstal-metiz, part of Severstal, launched a 287 million ruble cold rolling mill, the company said on Thursday.

“The equipment was purchased as part of an investment project to increase production of high-precision cold-drawn strip of several standard sizes to over 5,000 tonnes per year,” the company said.

The company has also upgraded one of the entrance gates to ensure quick and safe shipment of finished products. A new cantilever crane and a tool assembly station have been installed at the site as well.

“I would like to stress that apart from Severstal-Metiz, no other company in Russia produces this type of product. We produce it according to the European norms and in compliance with all consumer requirements,” head of the company Sergei Kovryakov said.
