Access to Russian gas infrastructure to rise to 71.4% in 2020

MOSCOW, Nov 26 (PRIME) -- Access to gas infrastructure in Russia’s regions will rise to 71.4% as of January 1, 2021 and to 74.7% as of January 1, 2026 in case of strict compliance with the programs, Gazprom said in a statement on Thursday.

“Currently, implementation of 2016–2020 programs to improve gas infrastructure and assess to the infrastructure are being finished. Preliminary data show that Gazprom will have built 9,830 kilometers of pipelines and will have ensured conditions for gas delivery to 1,358 localities. As a result, access to Russian gas infrastructure will grow to 71.4% as of January 1, 2021 from 66.2% (as of the beginning of 2016),” the statement read.

“Timely provision of client readiness to taking gas, which the regional governments are to ensure, is of great importance. To achieve that, we sign plans and schedules of work synchronization each year. If these programs are adhered to in a strict way, access to the gas infrastructure in the country would rise to 74.7% as of January 1, 2026. Gas infrastructure will be developed to the maximum technical possibility in 35 regions if the programs are fulfilled.”
