AvtoVAZ says to start production on ex-Nissan plant May–June

MOSCOW, Mar 31 (PRIME) -- Russia's AvtoVAZ has accelerated preparations for the launch of a former Nissan plant owned by the company and plans to start producing the Lada cars in May or June, the company said in a statement on Friday.

"Concerning plans for the St. Petersburg plants, AvtoVAZ has accelerated preparation for the start of production and plans to start producing the Lada cars in the city on the Neva in May–June of this year," the company said.

AvtoVAZ kept its production plan at more than 400,000 cars in 2023 and plans to replace foreign components seeing shipment troubles in June.
