Cbank opposes obligatory foreign currency revenue repatriation
MOSCOW, Apr 12 (PRIME) -- The central bank sees no need in returning to obligatory foreign currency repatriation, because the exporters pay for imports with the money, Chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina said Wednesday.
"Concerning the need to return to repatriation of foreign currency revenue and other foreign currency restrictions. We do not think we should not do this. The fact that the companies keep revenue abroad allows them to pay for necessary imports," the official said.
The exporters continue to sell foreign currency revenue voluntarily, although the amount has slightly declined, she said.
