Gazprom says keeps plan to complete Nord Stream-2

MOSCOW, Aug 19 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom still plans to complete the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline and is doing all necessary work, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

"We keep our plans to complete the Nord Stream-2 pipeline and perform necessary work. Unfortunately, we are restricted in the amount of information that we can disclose publicly at the current stage, partially because of much pressure put on the project," the company said.

The Nord Stream-2 project envisages construction of two lines of a natural gas pipeline with an annual capacity of up to 55 billion cubic meters, running from the Russian shore to Germany under the Baltic Sea. Russian gas giant Gazprom is implementing the project together with Germany’s E.ON and BASF, Royal Dutch Shell, OMV, and France’s Engie. The length of the pipeline’s route exceeds 1,200 kilometers.
