Gazprom’s Amur Gas Processing Plant launches production

MOSCOW, Jun 9 (PRIME) -- The Amur Gas Processing Plant of gas giant Gazprom has launched production in Russia’s Far East, the facility will annually produce up to 60 million cubic meters of helium, according to information obtained by PRIME during an online launching ceremony on Wednesday.

President Vladimir Putin said during the ceremony, “After the plant reaches full capacity in 2025, it will process annually … 42 billion cubic meters of natural gas and produce about 60 million cubic meters of helium. This amount will allow Russia to cover local demand for such gas and also achieve one of the world’s leading positions in its exports to the global market.”

The plant will produce 38 billion cubic meters of commercial gas per year, which will be delivered to China. It will also produce 2.4 million tonnes of ethane, about 1 million tonnes of propane, about 500,000 tonnes of butane, and about 200,000 tonnes of pentane-hexane fraction.
