MegaFon launches tool to move IT servers to other platforms
MOSCOW, Apr 28 (PRIME) -- Mobile operator MegaFon has unveiled Russia’s first automated tool to help business move their virtual infrastructure, including from physical servers and foreign cloud platforms, a company representative told PRIME on Friday.
“MegaFon has pioneered the market in offering its corporate clients a national product based on the tools of cross-platform migration MIND Software. Now MegaFon Cloud offers a fully automated, comprehensive, and secure tool to transfer virtual infrastructure,” the representative said.
The users now can move IT servers between foreign and local systems of virtualization in any combination. The tool automatizes 95% of routine operations, while the infrastructure of the moved server continues to function without changes.
“The retreat from the Russian market of large foreign IaaS- and PaaS-providers only boosted demand for import-independent analogues and tools that can be used to quickly move IT infrastructure to an alternative platform,” Alexander Osipov, head of cloud and infrastructure solutions development at the operator, said.
