Min says e-mail legal status may abolish registered office address

ROSTOV-ON-DON, Mar 23 (PRIME) Ц Awarding a legal status to e-mail, which the Russian government is discussing, will reduce administrative barriers for business and cancel the notion of a registered office address in the future, Communications and Mass Media Minister Nikolai Nikiforov told reporters on Friday.

УWhen a Russian citizen gets a company registered, one of the first conditions to fulfil is to have a registered office address. The businessman has to think of having an office and talking to a building owner. The matter is easier in regions, it is a problem in the capital cities (Moscow and St. Petersburg), it leads to additional unpredictable expenses,Ф the minister said.

Russian Post, a national postal operator, offers a state electronic postal system, when an important registered office address is attributed to an individual or a firm and ensures a channel of official communication, Nikiforov said.
