Ministry: Russia’s wheat exports fall 31% to 23 mln tns by Mar 10
MOSCOW, Mar 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s wheat exports decreased by 30.9% on the year to 23 million tonnes from the start of the current agricultural year on July 1, 2021 through March 10, 2022, the Agriculture Ministry said on Monday.
Total grain exports fell by 30.3% to 28.1 million tonnes, including exports of barley that contracted by 34.7% to 2.9 million tonnes, and corn exports that decreased by 21.7% to 1.8 million tonnes.
In the previous agricultural year, which ran from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, Russia’s grain exports amounted to 49 million tonnes, including 37.6 million tonnes of wheat. The grain export forecast for the 2021–2022 agricultural year stands at 45–48 million tonnes, according to the ministry.
