Ministry expects Russia to build 985 different ships before 2035

MOSCOW, Apr 4 (PRIME) -- The Industry and Trade Ministry has drafted a plan to build 985 ships of different types by 2035, Boris Kabakov, director of the ministry’s department for shipbuilding industry and marine equipment, said on Tuesday.

“We created a plan for construction of ships until 2035. It encompassed construction of 1,101 vessels initially, but we adjusted it to 985 ships after that,” he said during a joint meeting of the expert councils on development of the shipbuilding industry and of the transport engineering.

The plan includes construction of 60 large-capacity and 93 medium-capacity ships, he added..
