Moldova’s consumption of Russian gas plummets by 56.7% in March

CHISINAU, Apr 12 (PRIME) – Moldova’s consumption of Russian natural gas plummeted by 56.7% on the year to 64.7 million cubic meters in March, Vadim Ceban, CEO of Moldovan gas distribution company Moldovagaz, said in his Telegram channel on Wednesday.

“Consumption of natural gas in March amounted to 64.7 million cubic meters, which is a 56.7% contraction as compared with the same period of 2022. At the same time, the figure contracted by 29.2 million cubic meters, or by 31.1%, as compared with February 2023,” he said.

Households paid 95.5% of their gas bills, while companies paid 94.5% of the bills. The payment level of companies from the heat and power sector reached 71.9%, he said.
