NTI: Russian startup creates country’s first mixed reality glasses

MOSCOW, Apr 14 (PRIME) -- A Russian startup has designed a prototype of the country’s first mixed reality glasses that can be widely used and even replace the smartphone in the future, acceleration programs operator National Technology Initiative (NTI) Platform said on Friday in a statement.

“Team SKADI Technologies from the Saint Petersburg Mining University designed a prototype of Russia’s first glasses of mixed reality. They can be used for work at industrial enterprises, in medicine, education, and they will be able to replace modern smartphones in the future,” the statement read.

The device is based on the birdbath technology and can be controlled with movements of thumbs and fingers and various gestures.
