NorwayТs Equinor says to exit from its Russian assets, JVs

MOSCOW, Feb 28 (PRIME) -- NorwayТs oil and gas company Equinor has decided to cease investments in the Russian economy and exit from its joint ventures and assets in the country amid escalation in Ukraine, the company said in a statement on Monday.

УWe will now stop new investments into our Russian business, and we will start the process of exiting our joint ventures,Ф the company said.

Equinor has been in Russia for over 30 years and entered a cooperation agreement with oil company Rosneft in 2012. According to the statement, as of the end of 2021, Equinor had U.S. $1.2 billion in non-current assets in Russia.
