Official: Consortium including Russians buys 6.6% in Gazprom Jul–Nov
MOSCOW, Dec 25 (PRIME) -- A 6.6% stake in Russian gas giant Gazprom was purchased by a consortium of investors including the Russian firms, Gazprombank CEO Andrei Akimov told reporters on Wednesday.
“Gazprom is happy. The country received money. (The stake was bought by) a consortium of investors. There are also Russian investors there, many of them,” Akimov said.
Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller announced an intent to sell 6.64% of the quasi-treasury stake in the company in June. In July, two affiliates, in the Netherlands and the Cyprus, sold a 2.93% stake for 139 billion rubles. In November Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye sold 3.59% for 187.7 billion rubles.
