Operators say ready with remote work for Omicron surge in Moscow

MOSCOW, Jan 12 (PRIME) -- The Russian mobile operators introduced a remote or hybrid mode of work long ago and have no plans to change it for the Moscow staff due to the rising number of Omicron cases, representatives of the companies told PRIME on Wednesday.

“We introduced long ago and use constantly the system of remote work BeeFREE. This mode offers a choice for the employee where to work – from home or in office,” a spokesperson for VimpelCom, working under the Beeline brand, said, adding that the remote format had no impact on the company’s daily activities.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Tuesday that there was a surge in the number of  infected with the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron, in the city.

T2 RTK Holding, working as Tele2, said it uses the hybrid format of work and reacts to any changes of the epidemiological situation.

MTS said it maintains the measures of prevention of the virus spread and keeps its personnel from the group of risk at remote work, while the others are in the hybrid mode.
