Research: RussiansТ individual deflation at 0.5% in February
MOSCOW, Mar 20 (PRIME) -- RussiansТ individual deflation amounted to 0.5% in February, significantly below the official inflation figure of 0.2% for the month, but above last yearТs 0.2%, research company Romir said in a report late on Monday.
In January, individual inflation rose to 1.6%, significantly above the official figure of 0.3% for the month, mainly due to a usual price revision at the beginning of the year. But people usually tend to save money in February after January spending by buying discounted goods or looking for cheaper analogues, the agency said.
In JanuaryЦFebruary, the accumulated figure of RussiansТ individual inflation amounted to 1.1%, up from 0.5% of officially calculated inflation, the research note read.
Romir polls 30,000 Russians, 11,000 households in 180 cities with population of over 10,000 people for their consumer habits. The polled Russians scan barcodes of all goods they bring home. The data go to the database of the scanning panel in an online regime.
