Rosneft, BP’s joint venture discovers new gas field on Taymyr

MOSCOW, Nov 15 (PRIME) -- Yermak Neftegaz, joint venture of Russian oil company Rosneft and British Petroleum (BP), has discovered a gas field in the Taymyr Peninsula with estimated reserves of 384 billion cubic meters, Rosneft said in a statement on Monday.

“A field with 384 billion cubic meters of gas reserves has been discovered by drilling exploration well No. 1 at the Verkhnekubinsk subsoil area, the license for which is held by Yermak Neftegaz, a joint venture between Rosneft and BP,” the company said.

The new field, which features the largest reserves in the region and the highest production efficiency, was named after the late Russian Emergency Situations Minister Yevgeny Zinichev.
