Russia says Louis Dreyfus notifies it of grain exports termination

MOSCOW, Apr 3 (PRIME) -- The Russian Agriculture Ministry has received a notification from a local subsidiary of Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) about its decision to stop exports of grain from the country from July 1, a ministry spokesperson told PRIME on Monday.

“The Agriculture Ministry of Russia has received notification from Louis Dreyfus Company Vostok LLC about termination of exports of grain from Russia from July 1, 2023,” the spokesperson said, adding that the company was considering a transfer of the Russian business and grain assets to new owners.

“Withdrawal of LDC or any other foreign grain traders (from Russia) will not have an impact on the volumes and dynamics of national grain exports,” the person said.

Previously, U.S. company Cargill and Canada’s Viterra decided to suspend exports of grain from Russia in the next agricultural year that starts on July 1.
