Russia says wheat, oil crops sown area to fall in 2023

MOSCOW, Jan 30 (PRIME) -- The sowing area of spring and winter wheat and oil crops can shrink by 1.4% to 29.054 million hectares and by 1.3% to 18.368 million hectares respectively in 2023, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement on January 27.

The total sown area is to increase by 0.1% to 82.106 million hectares. Mineral fertilizer purchases can rise to 5.6–5.9 million tonnes from 5.2 million tonnes in 2022.
