Russian banks can have 1.9 tln rbl profit in 2023

MOSCOW, Apr 27 (PRIME) -- The results of the first months of the year assured the central bank that the banking sector will attain a 1.9 trillion ruble profit in 2023, which is comparable to the level of 2021, Deputy Chairwoman Olga Polyakova said on Thursday.

"The banking sector finished 2022 with a profit, it stood at 200 billion rubles, which is not a high figure as compared with the previous year, but the first months of this year gave us reason to assume that the banking sector will reach about 1.9 trillion rubles or more by the end of the year, which is comparable with 2021," Polyakova said.
