Statistics: Russia's GDP decreases by 2.1% in 2022
MOSCOW, Feb 20 (PRIME) -- Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 2.1% in 2022 due to lower production in the wholesale and retail trade, water supply, sanitation, waste collection and disposal, pollution elimination, manufacturing, transportation and storage, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a report citing preliminary data on Monday.
"The amount of Russia's GDP stood at 151,455.6 billion rubles in 2022 in current prices, according to the first estimate. The index of GDP physical volume stood at 97.9% as compared with 2021. The GDP index deflator in 2022 amounted to 114.3%, as compared with the prices in 2021," the report read.
Some industries demonstrated higher physical volume index of added value, including agriculture, forestry, hunting, fishing and fish farming, construction, hotels and restaurants, public administration, information and communication, and mining.
The Economic Development Ministry forecasted a 2.9% GDP fall in 2022 in September, and the central bank a 2.5% one.
