UPDATE: Gazprom directors to mull 2018 divs on May 21, may change payout

MOSCOW, Apr 29 (PRIME) -- The board of directors of Russian gas giant Gazprom plans to consider the management boardТs 2018 dividend recommendation and may change it on May 21, Alexander Ivannikov, head of a GazpromТs department, said in a conference call on Monday.
On April 11, the management board of Gazprom recommended paying 10.43 per share in dividends for 2018, a 30% rise on the year.
УThe decision on paying 10.43 rubles per share was made by GazpromТs management board, and the issue was submitted to a meeting of the board of directors that is to take place on May 21,Ф Ivannikov said.
Directors may also revise the recommended level of dividends. УThere has been no coordinated directive and no approved figure released yet. As of the moment, any changes are possible until the directive for the board of directors is issued,Ф he said.
The company said in a presentation that it planned to keep future dividends at no lower than the all-time record high of 2018.
In June 2018, Gazprom shareholders approved paying 8.04 rubles per share, or a total of 190.335 billion rubles, in dividends for 2017, leaving the dividend payout flat on the year. The sum accounted for 26.6% of the companyТs IFRS net profit for the year.
According to the companyТs website, the major shareholders are the Federal State Property Management Agency with 38.37% and state oil and gas holding Rosneftegaz with 10.97%.
