US imposes sanctions on Rosatom’s units, Khusnullin
MOSCOW, Apr 12 (PRIME) -- The U.S. has imposed sanctions against dozens of individuals and legal entities for ties with Russia, as seen by PRIME in materials of the U.S. Department of the Treasury on Wednesday.
The U.S. imposed sanctions on the production association Start in the name of Protsenko, a Rosatom nuclear weapons complex enterprise, and on the Kovrov Mechanical Plant, a Rosatom enterprise that produces gas centrifuges for uranium enrichment.
The U.S. also imposed sanctions against Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
The new sanctions cover the companies connected with businessman Alisher Usmanov cancelling the general license which exempted them from restrictions, but making an exception for Kommersant. The list includes Metalloinvest, MegaFon, top managers connected to Usmanov, and the businessman's stepson Natan Viner and his companies.
The digital division of holding company USM was also put on the blacklist for ties to the USM holding company.
The new sanctions affected 19 merchant ships linked to Russia, which are connected to State Transport Leasing Company (STLC). Yevgeny Ditrikh, who is CEO of the company and former Russian Transport Minister was also sanctioned.
The All-Russian military-patriotic movement Yunarmiya was put on the sanctions list as well.
