Ukraine says transit of Russian gas can fall 25% to 53.2 mcm Thu
MOSCOW, May 12 (PRIME) -- Transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine can fall by over 25% to 53.2 million cubic meters on Thursday, as seen by PRIME in materials of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine.
On Wednesday, Ukraine stopped transit of Russian gas via the Sokhranovka metering station claiming it is located on the territory controlled by Russians. As a result, the only entrance for Russian gas remained at the Sudzha metering station. Russian gas giant Gazprom said the entire flow cannot technically be shifted to the Sudzha.
The bid for gas pumping through the Sudzha for Thursday fell by 20 million cubic meters, or by 27.5%, to 53.2 million cubic meters. Gas pumping through the Sokhranovka stays at zero as compared with 24 million cubic meters on Tuesday.
