CEO: Internet institute to spend 1 bln rbl on video games in 2022
ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 16 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Internet Development Institute will allocate at least 1 billion rubles to support video games in 2022 and will spend no less than half of its 15 billion ruble budget on creation of series, General Director Alexei Goreslavsky said late on Wednesday.
“While the process of production of series and films is more or less clear, more or less described, there are many nuances and special features in game development, which forced us to study the matter in detail. Now we are ready to offer the market a clear plan of interaction,” Goreslavsky said.
The money for the games will be provided at co-financing terms. “It is not just that we give 100%. We finance part of development with understanding of market mechanisms, with understanding, a hope, and a prospect of the launch of these projects on the Eastern markets,” he said.
The institute’s total budget amounted to 10 billion rubles in 2021 and 15 billion rubles in 2022, at least a half of which will be spent on production of series, Goreslavsky said.
