Communications service says Google pays 500,000 rbl fine
MOSCOW, Feb 1 (PRIME) -- Google has paid a 500,000 ruble fine imposed by the Russian communications service for ignoring the law obliging the U.S. company to delete links to illegal information from search results, the authorityТs press secretary Vadim Ampelonsky told PRIME on Friday.
УGoogle has paid the fine. The money was credited to the account,Ф Ampelonsky said.
The watchdog fined Google in December 2018. The search engines must get connected to the register, but Google has not done so yet.
The watchdog said in mid-January that it had repeatedly asked Google to get connected to the system of banned content screening and would check compliance with the requirement in late February.
