Executive says Walmart may enter Russian market within 2 years
MOSCOW, Feb 13 (PRIME) -- The world’s largest retailer Walmart may enter the Russian market within the next two years, Lev Khasis, Walmart senior vice president and former head of Russia’s largest retailer X5 Retail Group, said Monday.
“I strongly believe that the Russian market is the best overall market for retail in the world. You can’t find a country with such potential for growing a retail business,” Khasis told TV channel RT, formerly known as Russia Today.
The only way to enter the Russian market is “buying some of its existing players or entering with an e-commerce solution when you don’t need any stores,” Khasis said.
