PRESS: Online retailer Ozon launches logistics marketplace
MOSCOW, Nov 27 (PRIME) -- Russian online store Ozon has launched a marketplace for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and is ready to pay them for distribution and storage of goods, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday.
The retailerТs partners can be hair and beauty salons and any business with premises that will be able to earn 50Ц90 rubles per every delivered order with the higher remuneration for decoration of a location in OzonТs brand style.
Its partners will earn from storing goods in the future, an Ozon spokesperson told the daily.
According to the companyТs data, Ozon has some 2,200 agency collection points and over 7,800 postamats. Thanks to the logistics marketplace, the seller intends to double the number of collection points in 2020.
Researcher Data InsightТs partner Fyodor Virin said the country has about 25,000 collection points, excluding postal operator Russian Post and major bank Sberbank.
УRetail is losing competitiveness due to growth of malls and e-commerce. It has to come up with new formats, one of which can be a transfer to the service model, including distribution of orders from Internet stores,Ф he said.
