Deputy PM: Critical IT facilities to switch to local software in 3–4 yrs
MOSCOW, Apr 8 (PRIME) – Russia’s critical infrastructure should switch to local software in three to four years, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko told President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.
“The government will soon give you a draft ruling for approval, which says that in three or maximum four years all software programs and microelectronics on the facilities of critical information infrastructure should be of Russian make only,” Chernyshenko said.
Industry strategies of the digital transformation will be prepared by July 1. “They are already prepared on the whole and are in progress of being approved, the key factor of success of this digital transformation is certainly the use of local software and hardware. We’re starting with ourselves, with state companies, and facilities of industrial critical infrastructure, which should be protected, are also in priority,” he said.
