S7 CEO sees first Epic 1000 plane delivered in December
MOSCOW, Nov 27 (PRIME) -- Russian airline S7 Group expects delivery of the first $3.25 million Epic 1000 turboprop single-engine plane, produced by S7 GroupТs U.S. subsidiary Epic Aircraft, in December, Vladislav Filyov, chairman of the board of directors of S7 Group, told reporters on Wednesday.
УI think, we will deliver the first plane in December,Ф he said.
He did not disclose the buyer of the plane, saying that the buyers are individuals. The order portfolio stands at 90 aircraft, he said.
УThe plantТs production capacity is 50 planes per year, but we are definitely yet to reach the figure. The producer should obtain three certificates: a type certificate, a certificate for production, and a certificate for sustention of air worthiness of the plane throughout its exploitation. WeТve received the first one. We will spend next year fixing the second and third,Ф he said.
УI should say that the U.S. accounts for 75% of all small planes. For comparison, Russia has 350 airfields, while the U.S. has 30,000 of them. Russia has slightly more than 1,000 (civil) planes, while the U.S. has 220,000 private planes and 650,000 pilots. These figures are difficult to imagine. But we are working on making that dream come true here in Russia.Ф
