INTERVIEW: Russian Export Center to see goods on 5 foreign e-floors soon
MOSCOW, Dec 18 (PRIME) -- The Russian Export Center (REC) plans to see local products enter five trading electronic floors in China, Japan, and Vietnam in 2017, Mikhail Mamonov, director for international promotion of trade of REC’s group of companies, told PRIME in an interview.
“This year we’re entering five electronic trading floors, three of which are exclusively oriented at China, these are 1688, TMall, and JD.com. Our operator will be ready to receive products from any number of Russian manufacturers. The Russian operator jointly with the floors and, perhaps, local subcontractors will sell Russian goods. The opening is expected by December 20,” Mamonov said.
“In Japan, it will be Rakuten – which is, by the way, popular in France and Germany, as we plan to open a site there – and Lazada in Vietnam. I’d say we see some interest. We tested the Vietnamese floor, and we got a call the same day about Agusha (a brand of small children’s food), which was the only thing we offered to see whether the Internet infrastructure worked or not.”
Under the Made in Russia and e-commerce projects, REC will deal with unusual promotion solutions in Chinese social networks.
“We understand that the great Chinese firewall does not allow us to work via global tools like Facebook and Google. But we also know that today trade through WeChat and Weibo is reaching the market’s giants from online mechanisms,” Mamonov said.
REC will also create an innovation hub of Russian companies in Vietnam. “This year we’ve started a serious dialogue with companies on an option of opening hubs, meaning a permanent presence in foreign countries. We’ll offer companies to work together, and this mechanism will look like a showroom from the financial point of view, but there will be firms and ideas instead of products,” he said.
“In countries of the Middle East and Asia, it’s important for partners to hear a dialogue on behalf of a government, and we’ll hold such a dialogue. We should be present on these markets permanently.”
In 2018, REC will expand the program of partial compensation for expenses of Russian exporters for transportation of goods. “We launched the program in a trial mode, and it witnesses a colossal demand,” Mamonov said.
The center plans to trigger export alliances between companies to fulfill comprehensive projects abroad.
“There are a number of directions where we can act on equal terms and conditions with big players. For example, these are large national projects related to critical infrastructure. These are the world championship in Qatar, the Saudi Arabian program of strategic development SaudiVision, a city of future: they all demand a comprehensive approach,” Mamonov said.
