Ambassador: ALROSA sanctions not to affect projects in Angola

MOSCOW, May 4 (PRIME) -- The sanctions against Russian diamond maker ALROSA will not affect its projects in Angola, Ambassador Vladimir Tararov told PRIME on Tuesday.

He said that the diamond industry started to develop in Angola with Russian participation, and company Catoca was founded.

"The company (ALROSA) has a 41% stake (in Catoca) now, there are plans that ALROSA’s production and stake will be extended… (The Western sanctions) will not affect (the projects with Russia)," Tararov said.

The local authorities said that they were ready to continue investment, the official said.
