Central banker says no plans to resume gold purchases from market
MOSCOW, Apr 28 (PRIME) -- Russia’s central bank is not considering resuming gold purchases from the internal market, First Deputy Chairwoman Ksenia Yudayeva said on Wednesday at a forum.
When asked about a possibility of the regulator relaunching gold purchases, she said, “This is a decision that we will not disclose prematurely. I have to say that we are not considering it. We will inform the market if any decisions are made. … the need to buy gold may emerge, but we don’t see it now.”
The central bank stopped buying gold on the internal market of precious metals on April 1, 2020.
