Russia allows Norilsk Nickel to retain GDR program for 1 year

MOSCOW, May 12 (PRIME) -- The government commission for control over foreign investment has allowed metals producer Norilsk Nickel to retain its program of global depositary receipts (GDRs) for one year, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

President Vladimir Putin signed a decree in April forbidding the companies to trade depositary receipts abroad. A special permission might be granted by the government, otherwise, all depositary receipts shall be converted into local shares.
