Russia’s Alrosa to raise diamond output 5% in 2017

MOSCOW, Jan 13 (PRIME) -- Russia’s biggest diamond miner Alrosa intends to increase diamond output by 5% in 2017, CEO Andrei Zharkov said in an interview to an internal edition on Friday.

“The market volume recovered in 2016, so we plan higher production for 2017. Besides, the company keeps its strategic goal to produce about 40 million carats annually in the next few years,” he said.
