Energy Ministry works on fuel price damper changes for 2022
MOSCOW, Nov 17 (PRIME) -- The Energy Ministry is analyzing the reasons behind possible adjustment of the damper mechanism to cushion the fuel prices, and is calculating possible changes in 2022, the authority said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Currently, the ministry is analyzing the reasons and calculating possible options for amending the damper for the automobile gasoline and for diesel fuel from January 1, 2022, taking into account the planned changes of excises and indexation of the baseline cut-off price in the damper’s formula,” the statement read.
The recent price rise for diesel fuel in Russia is connected to peak seasonal demand for the winter types of diesel fuel that the regional oil bases are stocking up for the season, the authority said.
The exchange prices for gasoline in Russia are stable in spite of high oil prices in the world, the authority said, adding that the operators of the Russian fuel filling stations have no problem with fuel deliveries and receive all the contracted fuel on time.
